Since the chassis still has no paint, I figured now would be a good time to do a little welding.

Much of the sheet metal that forms the chassis was spot welded at the factory. I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer something beefier.


A little reinforcing welding was done all over the place. Clean metal is so much easier to weld. If I ever build another buggy, I will sandblast first, shorten later. Slap me if I try to weld on that rusty garbage again. I went over the welds with a wire wheel to make sure they were clean.

I used our overhead hoist to string the chassis up for painting.


I can't think of anything that I still have to do before painting this thing. Next!
